New EU data protection rules officially adopted today!

After more than four years of work on the new data protection rules, the new General Data Protection Regulation have today been officially adopted by the European Parliament.

As we have earlier reported, the new rules harmonizes the European data protection legislation and aims to impose stronger protection of data subjects’ integrity by enabling data subjects to better control their personal data.

The new rules will enter into force 20 days after publication in the EU Official Journal and will become effective two years after that date.
